Friday the 13th: The Game is one of the most anticipated horror titles of this year, maybe of all time, and it just got released today. The game is a third-person survival horror and you will take the role of a teen counselor or of Jason Voorhees. Your goal is to survive, escape or even kill Jason and if you are on the other side, you need to stalk your prey and ambush them whenever you see fit.
The game had a smooth launch on consoles but on PC players reported some issues, in addition to the problems with the party system, numerous users are reporting difficulty getting online. Other errors are Database Login Failure, Crashes, and Black Screen.
If you are one of the users experiencing these issues, you’ve come to the right place because in the next steps we will help you fix your game. First, you need to make sure that your PC meets the minimum system requirements of the game, you can find them below.
On the Configure SQL Server Connection dialog box, enter the new database connection settings. Type the database host name and database name. The host name is the name of the computer or IP address where Microsoft SQL Server is installed, along with the port number, for example localhost, 1733.
If your PC can run the game, you can go ahead and search for your bug in the list below. For each issue, we came with a solution/workaround on how to fix it. If you don’t know how to apply a workaround or if you have some questions, don’t hesitate to contact our support team here.
#1 Friday the 13th: The Game Connection Issues
So bad news; we got hammered hard with so many people accessing our game that all servers have overloaded. Shooting for restart in ~30min.
— Friday the 13th Game (@Friday13thGame) May 26, 2017
Apparently, because some many people are trying to access the game servers, they crashed and now you can’t get online. Despite some indications that the issue will be fixed, it still persists.
The most recent tweet said: “We are looking into why this keeps occurring, but it comes down to so many users…which is a weird problem to have.”
If you are encountering connection issues, the only thing that you can do at the moment is to wait until the servers will be a little emptier. You are getting these errors because you can’t connect to a server due to the huge volume of players trying to do the same thing.
Solution! To fix the connection issues, you need to follow our tutorial at the end and use our tool. It will check your internet connection and also connect you to the game server. Go below for more details!
#2 Friday the 13th: The Game Database Login Failure
Some players are receiving the following error “Database Login Failure, Verify Internet Connectivity”. Apparently, this is another server issues and because of that, you are unable to login to the game.
The developers said the following, regarding this issue: “Anyone with a Database Login Failure; that is our servers being overloaded by busy servers. Have to restart. Looking at 30 min or so.” and “That means all servers and all platforms are down. We will get things started up soon as we can. #toomanycooks?”
Solution: Your solution to fix this issue is to restart the game and also Steam because probably a patch is now in place and you need to install it in order to fix this login issue and play the game. Also, make sure that you verified your internet connection and restarted your modem.
If the tips above won’t help you, a more convenient way to fix this login issue is to follow our tutorial at the end of the post. Our developers managed to release a tool that will help you successfully login and get into the game. For more details check the tutorial at the end of the post!
#3 Friday the 13th: The Game Launcher Crashes
Sometimes the game launcher seems to crash due to Anticheat not working. If you are facing this problem, you need to make sure that other third party programs like antivirus or firewall are not interfering with your game. One more thing you can do is to verify the integrity cache of your game files to make sure that the launcher installed properly.
A user on Steam also gave the following fix: “After the initial install of the game and EAC, I was getting the same error every time I tried to launch the game. I had to restart my PC in order to get the game to make it passed the EAC launcher.”

#4 Friday the 13th: The Game Black Screen
When you join a game and it stars, you don’t get into the cutscene ere Jason’s hacks the person and they all run away, eventually, when the game starts the screen is black, all you can see is the mini-map on the bottom right.
This is how the black screen issue looks like. Apparently, this bug has been going on the beta version of the game and it’s a common spread issue.
The developers said that this issue is strange and that they don’t have yet a solution on how to fix it. Until then, the only thing you can do is to send a report with your error to the following email address and help the devs fix this issue.
Some workarounds:
Run the game in windowed mode
Make sure that your GPU is up to date
Temporary solution! You can bypass your black screen with our tool below. Check the tutorial for more details!
